Frequently asked
A little clarity before we begin.
Every wedding is different. These are the questions couples most often ask about ceremonies, travel, rehearsals, booking, and payment.
The ceremony
Making it feel like you.
What kinds of ceremonies do you officiate?
Weddings and elopements, civil unions and commitment ceremonies, vow renewals, interfaith celebrations, spiritual or non-religious ceremonies, second weddings, and ceremonies that incorporate cultural or religious elements.
Can we write our own vows?
Yes. You may write personal vows, use traditional vows, or combine both. Personal-vow guidance and formal-vow writing are also included in select packages.
Can you include religious or cultural traditions?
Yes. Ceremonies are often non-denominational or spiritual, but meaningful religious and cultural traditions can be incorporated thoughtfully and respectfully at your request.
How long can our ceremony be?
The published packages range from approximately eight to forty minutes. Your ideal length depends on the number of readings, rituals, personal stories, vows, and other elements you want to include.
Can you include singing, a ritual, or another special request?
Yes. Singing, meaningful rituals, commemorative copies, and other special elements may be available as custom add-ons. We will discuss what fits naturally within the ceremony and your venue.
Planning & logistics
What to expect.
How far in advance should we inquire?
Earlier is always helpful, especially for popular weekends. Last-minute bookings may be accepted depending on availability, but may be charged at a higher package price because of the condensed planning and writing timeline.
Do you travel?
Yes. I am based in San Clemente and serve Southern California, with national and international travel available for select celebrations. Local travel is generally included in the package price. Significant travel or destination weddings may include an additional fee discussed in advance.
Is a rehearsal included?
Rehearsal support is included as described in each package, ranging from a thirty-minute appearance to unlimited rehearsal time. Additional needs can be discussed before booking.
How do we reserve our date?
We begin with a complimentary conversation. After our second call, a 50% booking payment reserves your date and begins the ceremony-writing process.
When is the remaining balance due?
The remaining balance is due at the rehearsal, or on the wedding day when no rehearsal is scheduled.
What is the cancellation policy?
Because your date is reserved exclusively and preparation begins in advance, all retainers and payments are non-refundable if the couple cancels the wedding or officiant services.
What if we do not know which package is right?
You do not need to decide before reaching out. Share your approximate ceremony length, location, priorities, and the level of writing support you want, and I will help identify the best fit.
